Jason Sosa will get an opportunity Saturday night to win another 130-pound title after all.

Sosa returned to the Maryland commission’s scale Friday night less than an hour after missing weight and made the 130-pound limit for his fight against Vasyl Lomachenko. The 29-year-old Sosa weighed exactly 130 pounds on what was his third attempt on the scale.

That officially made his 12-round fight against Ukraine’s Lomachenko a title fight. They’ll square off for Lomachenko’s WBO world super featherweight title in a 12-round bout at MGM National Harbor in Oxon Hill, Maryland.

Sosa (20-1-4, 15 KOs), a huge underdog, weighed in at 130.4 pounds on his first try Friday afternoon. The former 130-pound title-holder stripped naked, but still weighed 130.2 pounds on his second attempt.

The commission gave Sosa the standard two hours to lose those two ounces, but he came back less than an hour later and made weight. Lomachenko, also 29, made weight on his first try Friday (129.6 pounds).

Sosa, of Camden, New Jersey, won a version of the WBA super featherweight championship two fights ago. Down on all three scorecards, he came back to stop previously unbeaten Dominican Javier Fortuna (31-1-1, 22 KOs) in the 11th round of their June 24 fight in Beijing.

He defended that title once, when Sosa out-pointed England’s Stephen Smith (24-3, 14 KOs) by unanimous decision in their 12-rounder November 12 in Monte Carlo. The WBA stripped Sosa, however, when he signed a contract to face Lomachenko in a bout HBO will televise as the main event of a “World Championship Boxing” tripleheader (10 p.m. ET).

Panama’s Jezreel Corrales (21-1, 8 KOs, 1 NC) is the WBA’s super champion at 130 pounds.

The four fighters set to participate in the other two TV bouts made weight without issue Friday.

Ukraine’s Oleksandr Usyk (11-0, 10 KOs), a 2012 Olympic gold medalist, weighed in at 199.4 pounds for a 12-round defense of his WBO world cruiserweight title against Las Vegas’ Michael Hunter (12-0, 8 KOs). Hunter, a 2012 American Olympian, weighed 198 pounds.

Another unbeaten Ukrainian, Oleksandr Gvozdyk (12-0, 10 KOs), weighed in at 174.2 pounds for his 10-round light heavyweight fight against Cuban contender Yunieski Gonzalez. Miami’s Gonzalez (18-2, 14 KOs) weighed 174.8 pounds.
