It was a technical start in the first two rounds, with Rodriguez getting the better of the action with accurate punches. Adorno began to work the body in rounds three and four, which led him to do good work. Rodriguez was looking to counter to the head.

They were exchanging every time they got in close in the fifth. Adorno was looking to keep distance and peck away at the body and line up counters. The sixth was close, as were most of the rounds prior, where only a few punches were separating them.

During the seventh, a heavy right hook rocked Adorno bad. He practically turned his back as Rodriguez battered him with punches and sent him down. Adorno made it up and stood toe to toe to fight Rodriguez off. In the eight, Rodriguez was landing the harder punches and connecting more often, and stunned Adorno at the end of the round.

The ninth saw Rodriguez have the edge, and also in the tenth. Rodriguez was credited with another knockdown in the tenth, but it seemed to be more of Adorno slipping.
