The scores were 116-108, 116-108 and 118-106.
Berlanga stopped his first 16 opponents in the first round, but his last four had gone the distance.
The action was close in the first. Quigley took some big right hands and was boxing well. Berlanga was pressing forward in the second, looking to do damage, with Quigley moving and boxing with the jab. In the third, Quigley's boxing and movement was frustrating Berlanga at times. Near the end of the round, a two-punch combination put Quigley down against the ropes.
During the fourth, Quigley went back to boxing and moving. Berlanga was stalking and looking to land more of his big shots. Quigley was being physically moved every time Berlanga connected. In the fifth, Berlanga rocked Quigley, who decided to stand his ground and trade punches. Berlanga was landing the harder shots and busted up the nose of Quigley. Another knockdown was called when Quigley slipped while moving away from a punch.
The sixth saw Berlanga coming forward, taking his time and looking to connect with hard jabs. Quigley was jabbing and near the end of the round landed a big right hand to the haw if Berlanga. In the seventh, Berlanga was once again taking his time and working his way in with the jab. Quigley stayed on the move and was aiming to counter with shots of his own.
In the eight, Berlanga was pressing and jabbing for most the round. Quigley was defensive and remained focused on countering. The ninth was a mirror image of the previous three minutes. During the tenth, Quigley was taking more chances as Berlanga was pressing but not throwing as many punches. In the eleventh, Berlanga was still not throwing as much and Quigly just circled around the ring and boxed.
In the twelfth, Berlanga closed very strong as he scored two knockdowns of Quigley. A right hand dropped Quigley, with a second with a series of punches. Quigley managed to last the distance.
