Andrade came out firing at Nicholson in the first round. Nicholson was shaken a few times, but did well to weather the storm.  In the second round, a combination of punches sent Nicholson down. It was more of a flash knockdown. Andrade continued to push out a high punch output in the third, as Nicholson was looking for answers.

The majority of the fourth and fifth was Andrade landing shots to the head and body of Nicholson. There was some confusion during the fifth, with Andrade looking to have suffered a flash knockdown but it was ruled a slip. In the sixth, the right eye of Andrade was swelling up from Nicholson's stiff jab.

Andrade started the seventh with a variety of punches, as Nicholson was taunting him. The eight and ninth was more of the same, with Andrade controlling the action. Andrade boxed and outlanded Nicholson during the tenth and final round. There was another flash knockdown, in the final thirty seconds, from an Andrade combination.
