Lemieux is one the names in the running to see action on the HBO Pay-Per-View undercard to the Canelo Alvarez vs. Gennady Golovkin rematch, which takes place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Lemieux has been rebuilding his career after suffering a one-sided decision loss to current WBO middleweight champion Billy Joe Saunders in December of 2017. That defeat snapped a four fight winning streak, which began after suffering a TKO defeat to Gennady Golovkin in October 2015.

The Canadian puncher came back to the ring in May, with a twelve round decision win over Karim Archour. However, Lemieux failed to make the middleweight limit for the contest and was two pounds over.

His potential opponent for the Canelo-Golovkin card is middleweight contender Spike O'Sullivan.
