Chavez Jr. was moving forward and pressing the action when the first round began. Chavez Jr. was controlling the action early on, but Jacobs began to let his hands go in the closing moments.
Chavez Jr. was chasing in the second. Jacobs was working a solid jab and landing good shots when the openings were there. Jacobs outboxed Chavez Jr. in the third. Jacobs controlled the fourth and was trading shots with Chavez Jr. in the closing moments.
Chavez was doing well in the fifth round. Jacobs was really letting loose at the end of the round. Once the round ended, Chavez Jr. called over the referee and indicated some sort of injury was preventing him from fighting any further.
The crowd went nuts, pelting all sorts of items into the ring and appearing close to a dangerous situation.
