Former world champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. was working very hard this afternoon in Mexico City, during a public training in which the boxer was in great form, and weighed around 182 pounds.

Chavez Jr. will face his countryman and fellow Mexican superstar, Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez, on May 6th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. HBO Pay-Per-View will carry the fight in the United States and in Mexico the card will be showcased by Azteca 7.

The camp was headquartered in the Romanza Gym, which is owned by Hall of Fame trainer Nacho Beristáin.

Chavez Jr. was accompanied by his legendary father, Julio Cesar Chavez Sr., physical trainer Angel "Memo" Heredia, Nacho, and his uncle Rodolfo Chavez.

Last month, Chavez Jr. retained the services of Nacho Beristain as head trainer, and Heredia is handling all of the conditioning work. The fight with Canelo is scheduled to take place at a catch-weight of 164.5-pounds. Canelo, who is the WBO's junior middleweight world champion, is moving up from 154-pounds. Chavez Jr., who weighed at the super middleweight limit of 168-pounds for his December return, will be coming down a few pounds.
