Australian heavyweights Paul Gallen (12-1-1) and Kris Terzievski (10-1-1, 8KO) will create Australian boxing history, with the winner to be crowned with dual titles for the first time in more than 100 years.

It had already been announced that the main event fighters for No Limit Boxing’s card on May 11 in Newcastle would battle it out for the Australian National Boxing Federation (ANBF) Australiasian Heavyweight Title, with the sanctioning body confirming yesterday that the prestigious Australian Heavy Title would also go on the line in a history making event.

No Limit Boxing CEO George Rose said: “It’s a history making heavyweight battle that is going to see Paul Gallen write himself into the history books.”

“The Heavyweight Championship is the most prestigious belt in Australian boxing. No doubt about it. Add to that the Australasian Heavyweight title and someone is not only going home happy, they’re going home with a bag of belts.”

“Everyone knows Gal is one of the toughest blokes to ever take to the ring. He never backs down and plans to etch his name into the history books to back up the incredible Pay Per View numbers he’s drawn since giving boxing his all.”

“But there’s nothing easy about this fight and he’s going to have to shock the public again if he’s to make history. He’s in for one hell of a fight against Kris [Terzievski], who is one of the most accomplished rising hitters in the division.”

“We all know the power these boys hit with. It only takes one punch and Kris has the power to take down an icon and could very well be on his way to the pay per view paydays that Gal has been keeping for himself for the past five years.”

“Everyone knows we don’t muck around at No Limit. We put on the biggest and best shows and we back it up with the belts.”

In one of the two co-main features, Harry Garside (2-0) will defend his Australian lightweight belt against Layton McFerran (5-1) in his third professional bout. Nikita Tszyu, brother to world-ranked Tim and youngest son of former world champion Kostya, will take on Melbourne’s Mason Smith (5-0, 2 KO) in his second professional fight.

No Limit Boxing’s Sam Goodman will also rocket into the world ratings should defeat highly-rated Japanese fighter Fumiya Fuse for the World Boxing Organisation Oriental Super Bantam Title.
