INGLEWOOD, CALIF. --- Top Rank CEO Bob Arum intends to do everything possible to make a fifth fight between Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez in November in Macau, but if it doesn't come together he has a backup plan.

"When Max (Kellerman) asked him the question, he said I'm going to go back and discuss with my team and analyze it, which I think is a pretty good answer," Arum said. "which leads me to believe he'll do the fight."

But if Marquez decides against a fifth fight against Pacquiao, Arum immediately brought up WBO 140-pound champion Ruslan Provodnikov (23-2, 16KOs), who faces Chris Algieri in an HBO televised fight on June 14th from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

Arum had previously explored Pacquiao-Provodnikov for April of this year, but the Filipino star ultimately decided on facing Timothy Bradley in a rematch. Provodnikov initially turned the fight down, because he and Pacquiao share the same trainer in Freddie Roach, but later Provodnikov changed his mind and said he was open to the idea of accepting the fight.

Also, if Golden Boy executives Richard Schaefer and Oscar De La Hoya split apart - then Arum would consider sitting down with De La Hoya to discuss the idea of matching Pacquiao against whatever viable options that remain with Golden Boy Promotions.

"Provodnikov (would be a good option)," Arum said, "Yeah, (he said he would fight Pacquiao). Also with a lot of stuff that's happening now, we have to see how this all shakes out. Because it may actually be that the fighters who end up with Golden Boy, and that meaning (with) Oscar (De La Hoya), would be available to fight Manny, and they would certainly want to do that."
