Eight division world champion Manny Pacquiao (57-6-2, 38KOs) says a fight with Amir Khan (31-3, 19KOs) is possible, but no decision has been made as of yet on his next opponent.

Pacquiao's reaction came on the heels of a widespread report that a Pacquiao-Khan agreement had been reached.

The Filipino star named Khan, among several other possible options for a planned fight in the first quarter of 2016. Pacquaio's return will take place no later than April 9th.

“I’ve not talked to Bob Arum yet, but it’s possible. It’s part of our plan, we have Amir Khan, Danny Garcia, Terrence Crawford or Timothy Bradley. But I don’t know yet, a lot of names have been given to me by my promoter Bob Arum. [It’s] not yet [decided, but] we are going to finalize,” Khan told Gulf News.

Pacquiao is standing firm on his decision to retire next year. He says the next fight is definitively his last appearance in the ring before he concentrates on the Philippines general elections in May where he is running for senator.

“I’ve already achieved what I want to do in my career, I just want to continue and maintain my name at the top of boxing,” he added. “It’s very important to finish my career with victory.

“This is my last fight in boxing because I’m going to focus on serving the people in the Philippines and I believe I can achieve that dream.”
