Nico Ali Walsh will have his perfect record restored in time for his next bout this weekend.

A previous eight-round split-decision draw versus Danny Rosenberger was changed to a No-Contest, per a ruling from the Nevada State Athletic Commission monthly agenda hearing. Random drug testing results from their May 20 bout at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas revealed elevated levels of testosterone in the sample provided by Rosenberger, to which the five-person commission panel unanimously voted to invalidate the previous fight result.

Rosenberger was also issued a backdated nine-month suspension through next February 20 and a $1,500 fine, in addition to legal fees incurred by the state during its investigation. The 33-year-old from Youngstown, Ohio is also required to comply with random drug testing as conducted through the state before he is cleared to return to the ring.

Ali Walsh will now enter the ring this Saturday with his record back at 8-0 (5KOs), no longer carrying the stain of a tainted draw attached to his ledger.

The fighting grandson of the late and legendary Muhammad Ali is set to face Minnesota’s Sona Akale (7-1, 4KOs) in a scheduled six-round middleweight contest. The bout will air on ESPN+ as part of a preliminary undercard preceding an ESPN-televised heavyweight doubleheader from Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

The show’s main event pits Jared Anderson (15-0, 14KOs) versus Ukraine’s Andrii Rudenko (35-6, 21KOs) in a scheduled ten-round contest.

Saturday’s bout is the first for Ali Walsh since the May 20 clash versus Rosenberger. His last win came in a six-round, unanimous decision over Eduardo Ayala on February 3 in Glendale, Arizona. Ali Walsh’s tenth pro fight comes just two weeks after his two-year anniversary of his August 2021 pro debut at this very venue, where he will now appear for the third time.
