After briefly being hospitalized with an illness, Hall of Fame trainer and manager Ignacio "Nacho" Beristain returned this past Saturday to his normal activities, where his disciple "King" Rey Vargas (20-0, 17KOs), who was victorious in his match against Filipino Vergel "Superman" Nebran. Vargas retaining his super bantamweight youth world title of the World Boxing Council by knockout.

Nacho said: "I'm positive Rey Vargas is the future of Mexican boxing and that is why I decided to attend this fight as it was crucial to his promising career. I've had many years of non-stop action and I will not allow an illness to take me away from my passion. I'm positive King Vargas is going to be a world champion and the least I can do is join him in his corner."
