According to the now former lightweight world champion of the International Boxing Federation (IBF), Guadalajara's Miguel "Puppet" Vazquez (34-4, 13 KOs), there was a rematch clause is his contract for the recent fight with Mickey Bey (21-1-1, 10 KOs), which calls for a direct rematch in the coming months.

Mexican Vazquez lost his title by a controversial split decision on September 13 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas - a fight which saw judge Robert Hoyle give a crazy score of 119-109 in favor of Mickey Bey, while Julie Lederman also looked to Mickey Bey with a tally of 115-113 and Adalaide Byrd gave Vazquez the same score of 115-113.

Vazquez recently appeared on ESPN Radio, stating that his new manger Al Haymon assured him that a rematch would get worked out.

Vazquez also expressed his anger at the alleged harassment suffered by his trainer Javier Capetillo, during the fight, by security officers at the scene.

As we know, Capetillo is banned for life on American soil from being in the corner of any boxer's match, because of what happened with his former fighter Antonio Margarito in the match against "Sugar" Shane Mosley on January 24, 2009 in Los Angeles, California, where he was accused of altering the bandages of Margarito by loading them up with hard blocks.

Vazquez is aware that Capetillo is suspended, but the suspension does not prevent him from coming in the ring to stand in the fighter during presentations. Capetillo was also removed from his assigned seat three times without a reason, and he was not allowed to use his cell phone, not allowed to yell at his fighter as any person paying a ticket was capable of doing, and there were threats to disqualify Vazquez if Capetillo continued talking to him.

Vazquez believes Bey was the victor because of his promoter, Floyd Mayweather Jr., who headlined the entire event in a rematch with Marcos Maidana.
