Former four division world champion Miguel Cotto (40-5, 33KOs) disagrees with the outcome of Saturday's fight at the at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. Cotto lost a very twelve round unanimous decision to Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, who picked up the WBC middleweight title with the victory.

After twelve rounds, the scores were announced as 117-111, 119-109 and 118-110. Many in the press felt the scoring was too wide in Canelo's favor.

Cotto did not attend the post-fight press conference. His head trainer Freddie Roach was present and gave his thoughts on the contest.

Roach felt his boxer did enough to get the win by "outscoring" Canelo and blocking many punches.

When Cotto returned to Puerto Rico, he told reporters that he should have received the decision.

He felt the scoring should have been 116-112 in his favor and felt very disappointed by the scorecards.

"When you have the opportunity to master eight of the twelve rounds, you do not expect anything less than victory," Cotto told Primera Hora.
