It was recently announced that hard hitting super lightweight prospect Jean Carlos "Lobo" Torres (18-0 14 KOs) signed a promotional contract with Floyd Mayweather's Mayweather Promotions. He is managed by the Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico based Spartan Boxing Club.

The 30-year-old Carolina, Puerto Rico native fought 4 times in 2019 but like most fighters has seen his activity level stunted due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and hasn't fought yet this year. He currently holds the WBO 140 Latino title.

Torres, who trains out of the Mayweather Boxing Club, has also enlisted the services of world class strength and conditioning coach Angel "Memo" Heredia to get him in tip top shape for his Mayweather Promotions debut.

"He is looking very good. We were training for almost 6 or 7 weeks when he signed with Floyd and now he is an official signee with Floyd Mayweather so he is back in Las Vegas and he is in training camp," Heredia told BoxingScene.com. "He knows his power punching is very important and he works hard. He is just waiting for the date of his fight. He is probably going to fight in November. We are just working hard so he can have a successful first fight with TMT and that will open the door to a future championship fight."

Heredia is best known for his work with International Boxing Hall of Fame inductee Juan Manuel Marquez that led to his historic knockout of rival Manny Pacquiao in their 4th meeting. His stable of fighters also includes Yordenis Ugas, Felix Verdejo, Rances Barthelemy, Wilfredo "Bimbito" Mendez and several others.

Torres has fought twice on the mainland of the United States with his other 16 professional fights taking place in Puerto Rico or in the Dominican Republic.
