Fans are still stunned by Lucas "La Máquina" Matthysse (37-4, 34 KOs) by suffering a knockout loss in the tenth round to unbeaten junior welterweight Viktor "The Iceman" Postol (28-0, 12 KOs) last night at the StubHub Center in Carson, California.

Matthysse was fading in the eight round and Postol completely took over the fight. During an exchange at the end of the tenth, Matthysse got caught and went down, and he stayed down on a knee for the full count of ten.

According to Matthysse, he was not hurt by the shot. He said his left eye took damage during the fight and momentarily he was unable to see. When that happened he became worried that his eye had suffered significant damage and he wanted immediate attention on the area.

"I'm fine now," Matthysse said. "I wasn't hurt, it was just the eye. I went blind and obviously it caused some concern because I didn't want to go blind."

"Yes [the head butt] did affect me. It was bad and it really hurt. He hit me right in the eye. It just wasn't my night. I just couldn't get off. He just frustrated me. He really, really frustrated me. I was frustrated by the reach, it was tough to get inside on him. It was just a bad night, it didn't go my way."

"It wasn't so much the power of the punch. He just caught me right in the eye and I went blind. I just wanted my vision to come back."
