Argentine puncher Lucas Matthysse said "I was Rocky Balboa" when reflecting on his last ring appearance, which took place on April 26 in Carson, California. Matthysse survived two knockdowns and scored three of his own to stop John Molina Jr. in the eleventh round. Matthysse (35-3-1, 33 KOs) is now hoping for a rematch with WBA/WBC junior middleweight champion Danny Garcia, who won a twelve round unanimous decision when they faced off last September in Las Vegas.

"He was lucky that day. He is afraid, "said Matthysse said. "Hopefully he will give me a rematch, but maybe he'll move up a division and not fight me."

Regarding last Saturday's fight  between countryman Marcos 'Chino' Maidana and Floyd Mayweather Jr., Matthysse said - "[Maidana] did what he could. He did not land clean shots. But Chino made a good fight. Mayweather won, because he landed the cleaner shots. Hopefully he will give Maidana a rematch."

When reflecting on the win over Molina, Matthysse stated:

"It was a tough fight. It was for everyone. It was something out of the Rocky movies. He hits hard, scored two knockdowns. I was down, but I recovered. In the sixth and seventh rounds he began to wear down, then I controlled the distance. I started working and Molina could not take it. Had I not been so well prepared, I was not going to win."
