The ring return of former world champion Marcos Maidana is now in serious jeopardy.

Maidana was scheduled to return this coming Saturday, in an exhibition fight with Youtuber star Yao Cabrera, at the Dubai Tennis Stadium in the United Arab Emirates.

Infobae broke the news on Wednesday that a judge in Argentina is not allowing Cabrera to leave the country, because the social media star and members of his group are facing a complaint of human trafficking and corruption of minors.

Judge González Charvay would not allow Cabrera to leave the country on Monday, March 21. And there was also an embargo placed on all of his assets.

Maidana and Cabrera announced their fight in mid-2021, inspired by the other exhibitions provided by Floyd Mayweather and Logan Paul, among others.

Maidana has been out of the ring since 2014, when he lost back to back decisions to Floyd Mayweather Jr.

A few years ago, there was talk of a three fight comeback under the Premier Boxing Champions banner - but monetary disagreement with PBC forced Maidana to abandon the entire comeback.

The fight with Cabrera was initially set for March 5 and then pushed back to March 26.

The event is still scheduled to move forward as planned, with or without the Maidana-Cabrera exhibition.

Three boxers who are guided by Chino Maidana Promotions will see action on the card.
