Former champion Marcos Maidana is planning to relax until Floyd Mayweather Jr. makes an official decision regarding his opponent for September 13th. Maidana lost a twelve round majority decision to Mayweather on May 3rd at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. He was a huge underdog but put up a much better fight than anyone expected. Maidana believes he won the last fight and deserves a rematch.

"The fight with Mayweather, I've watched it a few times. I'm not going to say that I didn't win, maybe I missed the opportunity to knock him out. I'm hoping that he will give me the opportunity of a rematch. I know Mayweather's father said his son should not fight me again, that I'm dirty and I do not know what other things [he said], but I'm not going to give that any importance because the one who decides is Mayweather. I do not know when I'll return to boxing, but it has to be against him, because I do not care about fighting with someone else. We have to get an answer. Right now my manager is on vacation and I'm on a break before returning to the gym," Maidana said to Pablo Vignone.
