Erickson Lubin (19-1) is less than two weeks away from his bout against former champion Ishe Smith (29-10). The fight will be televised be part of the non-televised portion of the event under the Gervonta Davis-Abner Mares headliner.  The action takes place at the Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California.

The 23-year-old started his camp at his trainer Kevin Cunningham's Camp Cunningham in South Florida and is finishing up camp in Las Vegas, NV.

Lubin was training alongside Adrien Broner and they shifted their camp to Sin City two weeks prior to Broner's January 19th fight against Manny Pacquiao.

Cunningham has been very impressed with Lubin's progression in camp.

"The new and improved Hammer is ready to put the 154 pound division on notice!" Said Cunningham.

This will be Lubin's 2nd fight since his first round knockout loss to then WBC super welterweight champion Jermell Charlo in 2017. He stopped Silverio Ortiz in 4 rounds last April in Texas.

Cunningham believes that his pupil will be ready for all of the top fighters in the loaded super welterweight division after the Smith fight.

"Camp is going great. We have had lot's of good sparring here in Vegas," Cunningham told BoxingScene.com. "Hammer’s on a seek and destroy mission when he gets to LA. We are coming to see all of the top 154 pounders including Charlo. But it starts with Ishe Smith February 9th."
