WBC middleweight champion Sergio Martinez, of Argentina, has had his own terrific career. His most impressive moments were a second-round knockout of Paul Williams and a 12-round unanimous decision over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in September 2012. However, Martinez is definitely not as universally recognized as Miguel Cotto. Martinez's promoter, Lou DiBella, agrees and said that Martinez must beat Cotto in order to change that.

"He shouldn’t have to, but this is a huge fight in the most famous arena in the world against the most proven pay-per-view fighter he has ever fought and the biggest name fighter he has ever fought, so in terms of Sergio’s legacy I’m not going to pretend – this fight is huge," DiBella said.

Cotto-Martinez takes place on Saturday night from Madison Square Garden in New York City. HBO Pay-Per-View will distribute.
