It was announced on Thursday that IBF flyweight titlist, Donnie Nietes, will be facing Juan Carlos Reveco on February 24th at the Forum in Inglewood, California as the third bout on HBO's broadcast that night.

In his most recent fight, Nietes (40-1-4, 22 KOs) won the vacant IBF flyweight title with a  twelve round unanimous decision over Komgrich Nantapech on April 29, 2017, in Cebu City, Philippines. Nietes has been riding a win streak since September 2004.

Reveco’s most recent victory also came against Komgrich Nantapech on September 8, 2017, winning by twelve round unanimous decision in Argentina. He came up short in his two world titles attempts against Kazuto Ioka in 2015.

Currently on a three-fight winning streak, Reveco who has fought mostly in Argentina and Japan throughout his career, will be fighting in the United States for the first time.

The other two fights will have former world champion Carlos Cuadras taking on McWilliams Arroyo and WBC 115-pound champion Srisaket Sor Rungvisai making a mandatory defense against Juan Francisco Estrada.

The 'SuperFly' series was created specifically to showcase this division but there has been a change in the philosophy to allow some flexibility.

"The flyweight division is only three pounds below super flyweight, so we have two flyweight world title fights," said promoter, Tom Loeffler, referencing the Brian Viloria-Artem Dalakian match-up which is also on this card and is being contested for the vacant WBA flyweight belt.

"I still think it keeps with the mantra that it's a super super flyweight show.

"I think there's so much talent down there. I can see if Nietes wins, him moving up. He could easily challenge at 115 just like 'Chocolatito' (Roman Gonzalez) did and it just seems like there's a lot more pieces to work with between flyweight and super flyweight."
