Carson, California-HBO analyst has called many fights at the StubHub Center and isn’t at all surprised when something special happens in the arena. This past weekend, boxing witnessed Viktor Postol midly upsetting Lucas Matthysse but the manner of making him quit was what was special. There’s just something of StubHub and boxing that is special says Kellerman.

“StubHub Center is a tennis arena and it’s designed for the whole crowd to watch two people in action,” Kellerman told BoxingScene.com. “So when it comes to boxing, its similar in that fashion and couple that with the great Mexican American and Mexican boxing fans, it’s almost like a formula for good things happening here.”

Like everyone else Kellerman was surprised at the knockout and now gives Postol a shot with Terence Crawford.

“Yes I was surprised at the knockout,” explained Kellerman. “Terence Crawford appears to be the most accomplished 140 guy. If Matthysse won this fight, I think it would have been clearly the best fight to make at 140. But now we have a guy in Postol that makes you think a fight between himself and Crawford is something to think about and who wins now.”

Postol was a guy that was avoided by former 140 pound champion Danny Garcia and Kellerman says now you know why.

“Fighters don’t make their decisions. Danny fights. There are business reasons you fight guys. It wasn’t a big money fight to get in the ring with Postol yet when Garcia was supposed to defend. It’s why you don’t take fights like that when you’re in his position.”
