Former world champion Roman Karmazin of Russia feels bad that Roy Jones Jr., 46-years-old, has continued his career.

On December 12th in Moscow, Jones suffered a very vicious knockout defeat at the hands of former WBO cruiserweight champion Enzo Maccarinelli.

Karmazin, 42-years-old, retired in 2011 after suffering back to back knockout defeats.

Jones became a Russian citizen in September and plans to continue several boxing related ventures in the country. He also says that it's very possible that he might fight again.

"I have not seen the fight [with Maccarinelli] and I do not want to look at it. It is a pity that such a great man has been seduced by money. From what I understand, he now has a problem with his finances, and because of that he dives into everything that is possible. But to go into a fight when you are absolutely not ready... I think health is worth a lot more [than money]," Karmazin told Soviet Sport.

"Of course,Roy Jones is a great boxer, I even copied him at one time and took a lot from him - but eventually I realized that there are boxers who are much better than him. The same cane be said about Kostya Tszyu, who I also picked up a lot of things from, [and felt he was] much steeper [with his boxing skills] than Jones."

Karmazin has been training fighters in Russia for several years and plans to move over to the United States to continue training fighters. He intends to assist the stable of manager Vadim Kornilov, who has several tops names like Ruslan Provodnikov, Viktor Postol and others.
