Melbourne, Australia - Former unified champ George Kambosos (20-2, 10 KOs) offered no excuses for one-sided twelve round decision loss to WBC, IBF, WBA and WBO lightweight world champion Devin Haney (29-0, 15 KOs).

Back in June, Haney became the undisputed champion at 135-pounds with a dominant twelve round unanimous decision over Kambosos, who in turn suffered his first defeat as a pro.

The Aussie boxer would then exercise an immediate rematch clause - which forced the second encounter to take place.

Haney was even more dominant in the rematch, with scores of 119-109, 118-110 and 118-110.

Kambosos, who was a bloody mess by the tenth round, took a lot of punishment and was never able to turn the tide as the contest played out.

He offered nothing but praise to Haney for his impressive performance.

“He’s a great fighter. For me to have the guts to go again with him, he gave me a boxing lesson the first time ... he’s slick, it is what it is,” Kambosos said.

“I tried my heart out and Devin, I wish you all the best in the future. I hope you guys remember Ferocious Kambosos, this isn’t the end. I will be back. This guy is a top-five pound for pound fighter, and I gave him a great challenge over 24 rounds.

“I had a great win last year, I was on top of the world and I tried to chase the best. Respect him, please, in Australia. If the Prime Minister is listening, give him a passport.”

Kambosos promises to return in top form, advising his followers that back to back defeats at the hands of Haney is not "the end" of his career.
