Promociones del Pueblo has won the World Boxing Council's purse bid, securing the rights to promote the final eliminator between number 1 contender Denver Cuello (36-5-6, 24KOs) from the Philippines and number 2 contender Saul Juarez (22-4, 12KOs) from Mexico.

The fight will determine the mandatory challenger to the WBC minimumweight championship currently held by Thailand's Wanheng Menayothin

The WBC has told both sides that contracts must be signed by both fighters by October 30th.

Cuello has won three straight after a close and some said controversial majority decision loss to then WBC champion Chao Zhong Ziong in a battle held in Dubai.

Juarez has made a name for himself in the division after two unexpected upset decision wins over former world champion Adrien Hernandez.
