Former four division world champion Juan Manuel Marquez has announced his return to the ring, this time as a boxing promoter.

And he will not do it alone, since he will unite with Potenza Boxing to offer his first boxing event to be held on July 12 in Ocoyoacac, State of Mexico, where the main objective is "to support the new values ??and find the next champion of the world," explained the former boxer, and analyst for boxing television programs.

Monday's media conference was attended by the president of the World Boxing Council, Mauricio Sulaiman, as well as the general director of Potenza Boxing, Marco Antonio Gutiérrez. Márquez spoke about his role as promoter, where he will be accompanied by his son, Aldo.

"It's a good thing for boxing, it's going to be a big challenge, it's difficult, but it's nice to support the young people that we believe can be world champions," Marquez said in a serious voice.

"What people want to see in a boxing show are competitive and even fights, whoever wants to be world champion is going to rise up, and that is what we are going to do....we want to offer even fights so that the audience can be satisfied."

Gutiérrez said that so far, they are planned to make several boxing events until the end of the year

"We want to do things right, there are going to be two shows per month, the first show is on July 12, where the main fight is headed by Rodrigo 'Gatito' Guerrero over ten rounds at super bantam. We'll talk with Mauricio Sulaiman so that in a future we can make fights with national and regional titles of the World Boxing Council."

For his part, Sulaimán praised the fact that the multi-world champion Márquez has joined the project to stage these boxing evenings.

"I congratulate the companies for this union. When you work in harmony, respect, you get great things. The important thing is to make matches and important fights."
