Rob McCracken, the head trainer for Anthony Joshua, feels confident that his fighter will get revenge in a 2022 rematch with Oleksandr Usyk.

This past Saturday night at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Usyk outboxed Joshua over twelve rounds to capture the WBO, IBF, IBO, WBA heavyweight titles.

Joshua plans to exercise an immediate rematch clause - which is being targeted for the first quarter of next year.

Team GB head, McCracken, explains that while both boxers captured gold at the 2012 Olympics, his charge is still learning on the job and hasn't been boxing as long as Usyk.

McCracken knows what his boxer needs to do to win the second meeting - but it's all about the actual execution of the game plan.

“There is no drawing board to go back to, you've got to apply pressure with your jab and your right hand and you've got to keep him off balance," McCracken said.

"And you've got to put shots together when you get there. Usyk is a good boxer and Anthony is still learning on the job and if he applies himself he will get the right result in the rematch.”

Usyk was the widely viewed underdog in the bout, with many observers believing that he was too small to make a dent on the British star.

The unbeaten boxer from Ukraine is only the third man in boxing history to make a move from the cruiserweight division to capture a world title at heavyweight. Usyk is the only boxer to become an undisputed cruiserweight champion in the four belt era. He is now one belt away from repeating the same accomplishment at heavyweight.
