The bad blood continues to boil between Josh Taylor and Jack Catterrall.

Moments after defeating veteran Jorge Linares by unanimous decision on Saturday night, Catterall called out his longtime nemesis to a rematch.

“Taylor, where are you? Let’s have it, you sh!thouse,” Catterall said before a partisan crowd at Echo Arena in Liverpool, England.

Catterall (28-1, 13 KOs), of Chorley, England, was on the losing end of a highly controversial fight with Taylor (19-1, 13 KOs) last year for the undisputed 140-pound championship. Taylor won a split decision after 12 rounds but many viewers believed Catterall deserved to win, prompting some to call the verdict one of the worst decisions in recent British boxing memory.

The southpaws were engaged in talks for a rematch but multiple postponements led to the outright cancellation of that fight. Taylor instead pursued a title defense against Teofimo Lopez, who wound up comprehensively defeating the Scotsman in June at The Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Not surprisingly, Taylor did not wait long after Catterall’s win to broadcast out his opinion, mocking the Chorley native for going the distance against a 38-year-old Linares whose best days have long been past.

“38 year old, lost his last 4 fights, [Catterall] couldn’t finish Darragh Foley [in his last fight] but, it’s a great win! Couldn’t finish a Sunday roast [laughing emoji],” Taylor wrote in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

Catterall, 30, has also been mentioned by his promoter, Eddie Hearn of Matchroom, as a possible candidate to fight the winner of the upcoming WBC 140-pound title bout between champion Regis Prograis and Devin Haney on Dec. 9 at Chase Center in San Francisco.

The 32-year-old Taylor, a career 140-pounder, has stated he intends to campaign at 147 moving forward.
