Josesito Lopez vs. Marcos Maidana is definitely a boxing fan’s dream fight as it involves two of the most exciting and fun fighters to watch. As soon as this bout was announced, there was instant anticipation as it promised to delivery great action and produce a great fight.

Both combatants punching power is well known; Maidana is regarded as one of the hardest punchers in the sport as his sledge hammer right hand has caused damage on multiple fighters. As for Lopez, he may not pack one punch knockout power but his fists were to be able to break Victor Ortiz’s jaw last June in a fight that is now considered a classic upset.

Maidana however isn’t convinced Lopez is the puncher he’s made out to be despite breaking another man’s jaw. When Maidana was on BoxingScene Radio, he said he respected Lopez’s punch but he did not feel his power was as hard as advertised.

Lopez was made aware of Maidana’s comments and offered his own opinion on the damage his fists can inflict.

“I'm glad he thinks that. He'll find out June 8th. I definitely don't consider myself the strongest puncher out there but I have a punch. Once it lands, he'll definitely feel it. Like I said, I'm not the hardest puncher but I can definitely punch and if he doesn't think so, he's in for a surprise” declared Lopez.

One thing both fighters did agree on was the possibility of this being an all action affair that could end up being a Fight of the Year candidate. Most fans are expecting a fire fight and Lopez believes the fans will get exactly what they are hoping for.

“It very well could be [a fight of the year]. We have our similarities in the ring. What we both do is give everything in the ring and really don't take much of a step back. I know no matter what, we're definitely going to give the crowd what they want. Just with our fighting styles alone, it's going to be a hell of a fight and possibly a fight of the year candidate” said the Riverside Rocky.

Both men have shown resiliency, heart and determination in many of their previous bouts. On Saturday night, they will impose their wills on each other and it’s hard to imagine anything less than a war.
