Jose Luis Castillo Jr. the son of the former Mexican superstar of the same name is looking to carve his own path to stardom in the United States.

The 24-year-old picked up another victory this past Saturday when he stopped Jose Luis Pech in 2 rounds in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico.  The victory was the second in a row for Castillo.

With the victory Castillo improved to 19-3 (even though Boxrec.com lists him at 14-3 and hasn't posted the result of his latest victory yet) and his manager Manuel Hernandez is looking to bring him to the United States to get him exposure in front of the American and Latino-American fans. So far all of his fights have taken place in his native Mexico.

Hernandez also manages Hector "Machito" Camacho Jr. and sees a lot of potential in the young Castillo and believes he can win a world title in the future. It may be tough for him to match the success of his father who gave Floyd Mayweather Jr. the toughest fight of his career and also holds victories over the likes of Diego Corrales, Joel Casamayor and Joel Diaz but Hernandez is very excited about his fighter's future.

“Jose Luis Castillo Jr is on a mission to bring more exciting fights to boxing like his father did and become another father/son world champion," Manuel Hernandez told BoxingScene.com.
