Jordan White waited more than two years to make his way back to a televised appearance.

He didn’t waste any time making a statement.

The streaking junior lightweight prospect flattened unbeaten Eridson Garcia in the opening round of their Showtime-televised ShoBox main event. A counter left hook put Garcia on his back, which prompted an immediate halt to the contest at just 1:57 of round one Friday at Wind Creek Events Center in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

White was forced to battle through hand injuries while limited to relative obscurity in Hanover, Maryland after the biggest win of his career on this very platform. The 25-year-old from the greater D.C. area made a splash in a sixth-round knockout of unbeaten Misael Lopez on a March 2021 show without fans in attendance due to the pandemic.

This time, his brightest moment came with a crowd along with corner reinforcements. White was joined by Bill Haney, the father and head trainer of undisputed lightweight champion Devin Haney who is close friends with the prospect.

Garcia came in with the gaudier record but versus lesser opposition. The 29-year-old Dominican southpaw spent his past ten fights in the U.S but off TV as Friday marked his Showtime debut. He sought to box early in an effort to flash his full arsenal as the fight progressed.

White never gave him a chance.

Both boxers stepped inside to land power shots. White avoided the incoming with a slight turn of the head as he crashed home a counter left hook on the chin of Garcia, who crashed to the canvas. No count was necessary as the bout was brought to an immediate halt.

Garcia fell to 17-1 (11KOs) with his first career defeat.

White improved to 15-1 (11KOs) with his eleventh consecutive victory. The win was his quickest since his second pro fight, which fittingly also took place in Bethlehem after a 20-second knockout in his December 2015 pro debut. His lone career defeat came to Adam Lopez in their May 2017 battle of unbeaten prospects in Laredo, Texas.
