The Palms, Las Vegas - Joel Diaz Jr. (7-0, 6KOs) stopped previously undefeated Guy Robb (7-1, 3KOs) in the seventh round of a super featherweight war.

Diaz looked strong in the first. Robb stayed composed and landed a well-timed counter to drop Diaz in the second round. The knockdown woke Diaz up, as he started coming forward and an action-packed slugging match erupted with both boxers trading big punches. In the third, Diaz came out swinging with both hands early and the flurry of punches forced Robb to go down to a knee. A minute later Diaz continued the pressure and a series of punishing punches would send Robb down for a second time. Robb soaked in the punishment and actually tried to rally in the final ten seconds. Robb came out strong at the start of the fourth, and landed multiple combinations when he trapped Diaz against the ropes. Robb's nose may been busted from a Diaz hook. In the final twenty seconds, Diaz once again had Robb in trouble.

The fifth round was close. Robb was certainly busier with Diaz allowing himself to be outworked. Robb went right after Diaz at the start of the sixth. Diaz displayed a bad habit of being pinned against the ropes and allowing himself to be outworked during those close exchanges. Robb was still outworking Diaz at the start of the seventh. As the round continued, Diaz buckled Robb again with a variety of punches and this time he stayed on him and wouldn't let him off the hook. Diaz pressed, and Robb was taking flush shots, which made the ref jump in to wave it off.

Super flyweight prospect Matt Villanueva (7-0-1, 7KOs) stopped Mike Ruiz Jr. (8-1-1, 3KOs) in the seventh round.

Villanueva used his height and reach to his full advantage. In the second round, Villanueva punished his opponent with both hands, landing accurate shots to drop Ruiz and he bloodied his face in the process. Ruiz was game, fighting back in the third, and looking good in minor spots. Villanueva came right back in the fourth, digging hard shot to Ruiz body and following up to the head. Ruiz continued to take punishment until referee Russell Mora had seen enough in the seventh, as Villanueva was unloading, and stopped the fight.

“I felt perfect, as far as my conditioning, this is the best I’ve ever felt.  This was my first time going 8 rounds, and it was no problem.  I was surprised that it went this long.  He took a lot of my punches, and survived an early knockdown.  He was able to get up and fight a few more rounds, and that surprised me," Molina said.

Javier Molina (10-1, 4KOs) won a six round unanimous decision over the game Albert Herrera (8-5-1, 5KOs). Molina dominated the action, dropping Herrera in the first and outboxing him the rest of the way. The scores were 58-55 twice and 59-54.

Molina said - “This guy was tough came forward a lot. He was a little awkward and moved his head very well. I just followed my coaches and that’s what got the victory for me. Feels good to be back in the win column. We’ll be back in the gym next week and just train harder. Definitely happy, I’m ready to go back to work.”

Heavyweight prospect Razvan Cojanu (2-1) won a four round unanimous decision over Rodney Hernandez (1-1-, 1KOs). The scores were 39-37 twice and 40-36.

In the first bout of the evening, Yosmani Abreu (2-2) won a four round unanimous decision over Marcus Johnson (4-2) in a junior middleweight bout. All three judges had it 39-37 for Abreu.
