The respective promoters for Jhonny Gonzalez (Promociones del Pueblo) and Jorge Arce (Zanfer Promotions) are trying to work out various issues in order to finalize a September 20th showdown in Los Mochis, Sinaloa.

For months, Arce has demanded a shot at Gonzalez' WBC featherweight championship. The biggest issue at hand are the television networks. Gonzalez fights on Televisa and Arce is aligned with network rival TV Azteca.

There was some positive movement, where a deal was being worked out which allowed both networks to showcase the contest.

But then Gonzalez claimed that Arce's side demanded exclusive TV rights.

"The negotiations were going well, but at the last minute, the handlers of Arce said that if it came together the fight was only going to happen on TV Azteca. They did not want to give any [TV] rights to Televisa; that sort of thing bothered my promoter and the broadcaster who supports me," Gonzalez said.

Both sides are hoping to resolve this issue in the near future.
