Mirage Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas - WBC featherweight champion Jhonny Gonzalez was hit with two mandatory obligations by the World Boxing Council. The reason, said WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman, is because the last time a fighter made a mandatory defense of the featherweight title was two years ago.

The two mandatories will be set down by ordered eliminators.

The first eliminator takes place on January 26th at the Cowboys Dance Hall in San Antonio, Texas - when Robinson Castellanos (20-10, 13KOs) takes on Rocky Juarez (30-10-1, 21KOs) for the WBC's Silver title. Gonzalez will have to face the winner of that fight first.

A second final eliminator was ordered, where Marvin Sonsona (19-1-1, 15KOs) would have to face unbeaten Jayson Velez (22-0, 16KOs) - and the victor of that contest would face the winner of Gonzalez vs. Juarez/Castellanos.
