Josue Nery Santos Gym in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico - Former world champion Jhonny Gonzalez (65-10, 54 KOs) won a twelve round unanimous decision over Irving Berry (23-7-2, 10 KOs).

Gonzalez battered Berry in the contest, scoring three knockdowns and landing a lot of big punches, but he was unable to get him out of there.

The scores were wide in Gonzalez's favor, with 120-105 on all three scorecards. With the win, Gonzalez retains his WBC Latino super featherweight world title.

Gonzalez picked up his seventh victory in a row since the upset decision loss to Jonathan Oquendo on the undercard of Floyd Mayweather-Andre Berto at MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

It was his first twelve round decision win since December of 2015, when he defeated Hurrican Futa.

And it was Gonzalez's third fight of the year. He saw action in March when he defeated Francisco Contreras with a third round knockout and then came back in July to blast out Jessie Cris Rosales in two rounds.

He was originally pegged for the HBO card on December 9th to face Miguel Roman in a final eliminator, but there wasn't enough time to get ready for that fight - as he was already set to return on November 5. Roman is now fighting Orlando Salido in the main event of that show.

Mexican Olympic medal winner Misael “Chino” Rodriguez (5-0, 3KOs), who is trained by Robert Garcia and promoted by Richard Schaefer of Ringstar, stopped Isaac ‘Gallo Negro’Méndez (16-16, 14KOs) in a middleweight bout.

He won a bronze medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics and he competed in the World Series of Boxing between 2014 and 2016. He competed in the men's middleweight event at the 2016 Summer Olympics. Rodriguez won three bouts before losing to silver medalist Bektemir Melikuziev in the semi-finals.

And he won a bronze medal at the 2015 Pan American Games, beating Anthony Campbell before losing to Jorge Vivas in the semi-finals.

He announced his decision to turn pro earlier this year when he signed with Schaefer. Rodríguez's manager is former Olympian and world champion Abner Mares.
