Oscar De La Hoya is really getting into the swing of letting loose on his social media channels. In recent months he has made it perfectly clear, just in case anyone was unaware, that these days he really doesn’t like Saul “Canelo” Alvarez – the fighter he used to promote.

“So, we’re a week away from the boxing match that nobody asked for and the UFC event that everybody will be watching,” De La Hoya, 51, began. “Canelo is fighting [Edgar] Berlanga, another snoozefest! They’re trying to sell a PPV for 90 dollars and 500 dollars minimum in person? It’s just robbery at this point to pay for another lame Canelo fight that always goes the distance against a subpar opponent.”

De La Hoya and Alvarez split in 2020 after a long and lucrative partnership. Whether De La Hoya is still bitter about that is unknown. He won’t be attending his next fight, though.

“I’ll actually be attending the UFC event at the Sphere instead,” he confirmed with a smile. “So now, I love the sport of boxing more than anything and I would be watching boxing matches, anywhere and at any time, even if it’s a simple sparring session or two bums fighting in the street so the idea of attending a UFC, and support Dana White instead of Canelo, tells you everything you need to know.”

De La Hoya is working with Turki Alalshikh and the General Entertainment Authority (GEA) regarding a ‘Latinos Night’ Riyadh Season event that is scheduled to take place on November 16. In the meantime, the GEA will sponsor the UFC event that De La Hoya plans to attend.

In case you’re yet to see the clip, De La Hoya is topless aside from a baseball cap worn backwards. His newfound abs are in full vision.

“Dana! I can’t wait to see you next Saturday, buddy,” De La Hoya continued. “You got the same ab surgery that I got, I always knew you wanted to be like me, bro. It will be great to hang out with you face to face.”
