StubHub Center, Carson, California -  Jesus Cuellar (27-1, 21KOs) retained his WBC 'regular' featherweight title to stop veteran Vic Darchinyan (40-8-1, 29KOs) in the eight round.

Darchinyan, at 39-years-old, started well against the younger, bigger and stronger man, with looping punches that were finding a home. Cuellar continued to come forward, walked through Darchinyan's punches and was landing hard counters on the body of his opponent.

Cyellar started doing more damage by doubling up his punch output in the fourth. Darchinyan was on the backfoot, picking his spots and looking for calculated openings.  A big left hand rocked the legs of Cuellar. Later in the round he landed a few more left hands. Cuellar started going back to work in the fifth and sixth, throwing and landing a lot more punches.

During the eight round, Darchinyan got dropped hard by a big right hand. Darchinyan got up but he was out on his feet. The referee allowed it to go on, but Darchinyan's corner was trying to stop the fight with the referee unable to see them. Cuellar quickly started pounding on Darchinyan against the ropes and the referee jumped in to wave it off.
