This coming Saturday night at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, Jarrell 'Big Baby' Miller will face Gerald Washington in a high-stakes heavyweight showdown.

The contest will take place as part of the undercard to the junior welterweight showdown between Adrien Broner and Mikey Garcia.

Miller is hoping this fight, being televised by Showtime and Sky Sports, will lead to a showdown with WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder (38-0, 37 KOs) in the near future.

The bout between Washington (18-1-1, 12 KOs) and Jarrell Miller (18-0-1, 16 KOs) will likely move the winner a big step closer to a world title shot.

Besides working as a sparring partner for Wladimir Klitschko to prepare him for the showdown with Anthony Joshua, Washington also put in a competitive effort in February when he was stopped in five rounds by Wilder. Miller aims to stop him even quicker.

Miller is hoping the contest will lead to a showdown with Wilder. Miller is more than happy to fight Wilder at Barclays, where the WBC champion has fought in the past.

"I can't wait to get in the ring in my hometown. There's going to be great energy and great excitement. Gerald Washington is a good opponent for me coming back from a layoff. Most people wouldn't go right into a fight so challenging, but I'm warrior-built and I've been doing this for a long time," Miller said.

"My main thing is to go in there and knock him out. However the knockout comes, it comes. This is boxing so anything can happen in there. Deontay Wilder is different to me and I'm going to show that. I hope that I can get a fight with Wilder after this one. If he'll come to New York, then even better. I think my progression is ahead of where he was. We're going to keep fighting, getting knockouts and eventually a world title fight."
