The career of Anthony Joshua has had its fair share of peaks and valleys.

Of course, we all remember his dominant title reign. During his first run as a unified champion, the former Olympic gold medalist took out the likes of Wladimir Klitschko, Joseph Parker, and Alexander Povetkin. But while he would go on to lose his heavyweight titles, regain them, and lose them again - he’s now attempting to find himself.

Jared Anderson figures to be a major player in the coming years. The heavyweight contender is brash, young, explosive, and as skilled as they come. He’s good. We all know it. But when he was last seen, the 23-year-old seemingly had his hands full against Charles Martin. Although he managed to come out on top, Anderson (15-0, 14 KOs) endured a few shaky moments.

Anxious to put it all behind him, Anderson will now make a quick turnaround when he takes on Andrii Rudenko this Saturday night. In a day and age where fighters seldom make multiple trips to the ring on relatively short notice, Anderson believes that activity is what he desperately needs. As an example, Anderson points to the form Joshua once displayed in his younger years as opposed to today.

“I definitely think it’s a good thing as AJ just did," said Anderson to FightHype.com when discussing his ring activity. "He had a lot of his flaws and downfalls from not being active as he was in the beginning of his career.”

Keeping the ring rust off might be salient, but that isn’t the only reason why Anderson is jumping back into the ring so soon. With the up-and-coming star admitting time and time again that financial freedom is what motivates him the most, he points to his underwhelming bank account as an indication of why he’s fighting so soon.

“The goal is to stay as active as I can plus I’m broke. I'm looking to make as much as I can so I can get out as quick as I can.”
