Ljubljana – IBF welterweight champion Jan Zaveck has revealed three potential opponents for the match that will happen during the summer and will most probably take place in the United States. Andre Berto, Randall Bailey and Miguel Cotto are among the favorites.

“If I could choose, I would pick up Berto. Also, after he lost the WBC world title, requests to fight for the IBF title began coming from his team,” said Zavec (31 wins, 18 KOs, 1 loss).

Zaveck expects to fight before the end of the summer and gives a 90% possibility that his next fight will happen in the United Sates. However, the final decision about who he will fight against will be made at the end of May by the IBF.

Andre Berto (27 wins, 21 KO, 1 lost), the eminent boxer in the welterweight category, looks to be the most possible opponent. Zaveck's physical training for the match will be under his fitness coach Tommy Jagarinec's supervision, as technical and tactical training will be under coach Dirk Dzemski and will take place in Magdeburg (Germany).

Tommy Jagarinec, his fitness coach, is convinced that Zaveck will be at his physical best: “At 35 he is at the peak of his fitness – in a physical sense as well as mental. I believe there is no one who will want to see Zavec in the opposite corner.”

Zaveck added in his style: “I am ready to fight anyone. There are no miracles. They all have one head and two hands, the same as me.”
