On March 18th at the Madison Square Garden in New York, Daniel Jacobs (32-2, 29 KOs) lost a unanimous decision to unified middleweight champion, Gennady Golovkin. While he didn't get his hand raised in victory, his performance received plaudits as he gave Golovkin (37-0, 33 KOs) his toughest fight as a professional.

So what's next?

"I gave him some time off so that he could enjoy himself," explained his trainer Andre Rozier to BoxingScene.com. "But he'll probably be coming back in the middle of May just to stay loose till we find out what the next assignment is."

As for what he'd like next, Rozier doesn't mince his words - "Me myself, I'd love the next assignment to be a rematch with 'Triple G '(Golovkin) and I think those two guys are the two best middleweights on the planet, bar none. And hell, they can fight four or five times for what they did in the last one, it was great. And I think everyone would also enjoy it to the utmost also.

"But just as soon as we find out the actual assignment will be for next time we'll keep him on an even keel, just keep working and keeping his physique in shape. Just wait until what the word is."

Regardless, Rozier (who also helps train middleweight contender,  Avtandil Khurtsidze) would like for a relative quick turn around, say the summer, for Jacobs regardless of who he faces next.

"Definitely, without a doubt. I don't know if it's going to happen but I'd like to see that happen. I'd like to see him get in there - even it if was September - just sometime around that area. I don't want to see another nine, ten, eleven months go by," stated Rozier.

"It's ridiculous, it really makes no sense and I don't think it behooves him to keep the boxing audience and the fans in your circle, when you don't fight enough for the people to remember you."
