Leicester Arena, Leicester - For the World Boxing Organisation Inter-Continental super lightweight title, Jack Catterall (23-0, 12 KOs) won a twelve round unanimous decision over Ohara Davies (18-2, 14 KOs). The scores were 118-110, 115-113, 115-113.

Coming in, Davies won three in a row since suffering his first career defeat, a seventh round TKO defeat at the hands of Josh Taylor in July 2017.

Catterall staying very busy, with Davies being his fourth fight of the year. He stopped Kevin McCauley in one round in March, a first round knockout of Chris Sebire in May, and then a ten round decision win over Tyrone McKenna in June.

They were feeling each other out in the first round. The action was fought at a very close pace, with both boxers landing in single shots. The second round was more of the same.

The entire first half of the contest was very close. Catterall was nicking some of the rounds by smallest of margins. Davies was not letting his hands go, deciding to box at a measured pace.

And the second half was a mirror image. The action was tight, neither fighter was taking a lot of chances, and the rounds were won by both men by the smallest of margins. Catterall was doing a little bit more, but not much to nick several rounds. Neither boxer was risking much and content to box it out.

There was a little more action in the twelfth round, and even then both boxers were cautious and picking their punches.
