Iván Morales (9-0, 5KOs), the younger brother of former champion Erik "El Terrible" Morales, has vowed to become more committed to the sport and aims "to go further to win a world title." The young bantamweight is very focused on carrying the boxing legacy of his family. The Boxing Commission of the Federal District in Mexico recently recognized Morales as the "Best Rookie" in the district.

"I am happy for this recognition. It's a great honor for my career despite my short time in boxing. I want to continue in better fights and gain more experience to to fight for a national championship. My dad has prepared me very well, and so has my brother. I know that later on the fights will be much harder, but with a lot of preparation in the gym my chances to win those fights are high," Morales said.
