TOKYO – Naoya Inoue and Luis Nery both made weight at the first time of asking in a ballroom at the Tokyo Dome hotel today.

The main eventers weighed-in first ahead of their unified super bantamweight title fight on Monday (May 6).

There was applause when Inoue came under the 122lbs weight limit, and arguably some sarcastic clapping when Mexican challenger Nery came in a whole pound under the limit.

Nery had previously been banished from Japan, for failing a PED test against Shinsuke Yamanaka and then missing weight in their return fights, which were both at bantamweight.

The WBC also announced that a Diamond belt, a trophy, would be presented to the winner of Inoue-Nery.
