Both legs of Saturday's televised edition of

Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) on NBC Sports Network

have satisfied all weight terms for their respective title elimination bouts Saturday evening at Miccosukee Indian Gaming Resort in Miami, Florida.

As per terms of the International Boxing Federation (IBF), any fight with the organization's sanctioning comes with the condition of having a second weigh-in the morning of the event. Boxers are not permitted to gain more than 10 lbs. above the contracted weight during such session.

The evening's main event pits Kevin Bizier versus Fredrick Lawson in a welterweight eliminator, with the winner to next face unbeaten champ Kell Brook.

Both fighters were required to weigh 157 lbs. or less during Saturday's same-day safety check. Bizier (24-2, 16KOs) arrived this morning at 151 lbs. for his first pro fight in the United States, gaining just under 10 lbs. above his official pre-fight weight of 146.6 lbs. Lawson was officially 156 lbs. at Friday's weigh-in, gaining  less 6 lbs. this morning as he checked in at 151 lbs.

Brook will be ordered to face the winner likely in the very near future. The unbeaten champion from England was due to face Argentina's Diego Chaves in an optional title defense, but suffered an injury and was forced to withdraw. An exemption for another attempted voluntary defense is unlikely, meaing the winner of Saturday's main event could be receiving even more good news well before year's end.

In the opening bout of the telecast, Walter Castillo faces Keita Obara in a 12-round super lightweight eliminator. The winner will become the mandatory challenger for newly crowned champ Eduard Troyanovsky, an unbeaten Russian who is fresh off a 6th round knockout of Cesar Cuenca earlier this week.

Troyanovsky will have until April to satisfy his mandatory challenge, leaving a small window of opportunity for a potential optional defense.

Castillo (26-3, 19KOs) checked in at 148.5 lbs, gaining just over nine pounds from his official pre-fight weight of 139.6 lbs. Obara (15-1, 14KOs) - fighting outside of Japan for the first time as amateur or pro - weighed 149.5 lbs. during Saturday's same-day check, gaining 10 lbs. from Friday's weigh-in. Both fighters were required to weigh 150 lbs. or less during Saturday's session.

Currently, the IBF is the only major sanctioning body to mandate same-day weight checks, a practice conducted to guard against massive weight gain from the pre-fight weigh-in to fight night. The World Boxing Council (WBC) confirmed it will also begin implementing the procedure, as was announced during its annual convention held earlier this week in China.
