Former two division champion Bernard Hopkins (52-6-2, 32KOs) is possibly going to continue his career. The 47-year-old veteran has not made a final decision on whether or not he plans to hang up the gloves. On Saturday night at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, Hopkins lost a twelve round majority decision to Chad Dawson (31-1, 17KOs).

According to Hopkins, he needs fights that "motivate" him. One particular possibility he mentioned is Lucian Bute (30-0, 24KOs), who in a couple of weeks will defend his title against Carl Froch (28-2, 20KOs).

"If you think tonight my swan song would be sung...no. Because I believe there are a lot of people who won't fight me and they already said so. It all depends on whether the motivation is a Bute or whether the motivation is something significant that I can once again prove that I an worthy of not only being the king of the division but prove that...................tonight somebody seen something different, I think different, but I'll let the chips fall where they might fall," Hopkins said.

"But as far as tonight being a night where I'll say 'it was great, it was fun, it was a struggle, it was hard, I'm done' - I would have to look at the whole landscape. I will talk, me and Oscar [ De La Hoya], me and Richard [Schaefer]. We always talk on the phone and I'll figure out what I want to do and what I'm comfortable with."

Hopkins did mention the possibility of being more involved as a partner in Golden Boy Promotions, and mentoring the younger fighters like WBC 140-pound champion Danny Garcia.
