Former champion Kendall Holt has not fought since February of 2013, when he was stopped by Lamont Peterson in a junior welterweight title fight. Holt still follows the sport very closely and occasionally gets the itch to return.

One of the recent topics circulating around is the question mark surrounding the next opponent for Floyd Mayweather's upcoming defense of his welterweight titles on September 12th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Holt is stumped on who it may be, but he feels Mayweather must put a stop to the recent demands, from the boxing public, to push him in the direction of facing WBA/IBO middleweight champion Gennady "GGG" Golovkin.

Holt feels the fight is absurd and believes that so many fans want him to lose so badly that even if he fought and beat Golovkin, the fans would request him to chase even bigger challenges.

"I don't know who his opponent should be, but I also believe that he should not allow the boxing world to promote the idea of a fight between him and Golovkin. I think people just want to see him lose much that eventually they will call for a fight with Klitschko. This is ridiculous. Whoever wins the lottery and gets a call with a offer to fight, he's going to lose. Floyd is an alien, he is not like anybody else," Holt said.
