The truth of the matter is that I’ve been waiting for an offer to have an important fight during the entire year. I find it unbelievable that I wasn’t able to engage in an important fight being the number one middleweight in the WBC ratings.

Unfortunately, everything has been confusing in the middleweight division because of the Canelo, Cotto, Golovkin situation. It seems that everyone else in the world doesn’t exist. The WBC demoted me in the ratings without any reason. Then I submitted a formal protest myself and they put me back in the number one spot. But I was never taken into consideration when it came to disputing the WBC title. It’s all about Canelo, Golovkin and Cotto. I understand that they are superstars and generate a lot of money. But how can new stars rise if they are denied the chance to prove themselves?

I’ve been waiting for a whole year and the WBC now decides to allow Golovkin and Canelo to make voluntary defenses and then orders them to fight each other in 2016 which will set me back for another year and a half.

Sometimes, when I realize how boxing politics works it makes me feel like dropping everything. But I won’t. I always was and I am well trained and in great shape all year round, ready to fight the best even tomorrow if offered. I will rest only a few days for the holidays but then I’ll resume my training, because I always hope that someday justice will be done.
