What a great week! I simply have to start this blog by congratulating the NEW British and Commonwealth super-middleweight champion 'Saint' George Groves, AKA El Jorge Santos, on his tremendous victory over James DeGale at the weekend. Not only did George add the former Olympic champion's British title to his own Commonwealth belt on Saturday, he also proved a point in fantastic and classy style.

The fight itself was a tough and tactical one between two fighters who, I'm sure, will both have great success in the sport. George again highlighted why he is the better of the two, though, by using superior skill and intelligence, and maintaining a cool head throughout the pre-fight hype and fight itself.

El Jorge and his trusted emperor The Dark Lord, AKA Adam Booth, had been working for weeks on a game plan to diffuse DeGale and, despite the fact nobody else in boxing seemed to think it was possible, our man pulled off the tactics perfectly. Everybody at Team Hayemaker had faith that George could do the business - and we all knew how he'd go about doing it - yet nobody else could to see the light. Perhaps it's because our camp is shrouded in so much darkness these days. I'll have a word with the Dark One about that.

Speaking of his Royal Darkness, plenty of credit should go to Adam for his part in George's victory on Saturday night, especially given his sudden introduction to the world of boxing. It was tough for Adam to leave the fitness industry, the lyrca and his award-winning boxercise classes, but I'm betting he now feels fully vindicated by his decision. George didn't get the chance to show off the forward roll into six-punch combination move coach Booth had been teaching both of us for six months, but that day will soon come. Only then will people truly start to believe in the power of mind control and roly-polies.

As Adam always says to both George and I before we walk to the ring on fight night, 'The dark side of the Force is the pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural'. I couldn't agree more.

This isn't the first or last time George or I will be an underdog going into a fight, and so long as we believe and have faith in our unnatural abilities, that is all that matters. I have been written off before in my career and know how satisfying it is to prove the doubters wrong and upset a few people along the way.

George must be ecstatic with life at the moment, and he deserves everything that comes his way in the aftermath. He walked into our gym on Wednesday night with a few bruises, a couple of bumps, but also a golden glow and halo above his head, surely the result of his life-changing weekend. He's probably the happiest bloke on Earth right now.

'The Saint' is going to have a lot of offers and options heading his way in the next few months, and it will be down to him and Adam to think things through carefully and plot their next move. Whatever they decide to do, it's clear the buture is fright for George, and I am delighted for both him and Adam.

May the force be with you both!
